Triangle Residential Designs, Inc. is a full service design and drafting firm offering custom home design, pre-designed stock plans, addition/renovation design, space planning, architectural promotion materials and engineering services. We specialize in single family custom homes, as well as multi-family and light commercial projects.   We are in Cary, NC conveniently located across the street from Cary Towne Center Mall and Cary High School, at 975 Walnut Street, Suite 205.  Our offices are easily accessible from I-40 (exit 291) and the Raleigh Beltline (I-440).  For directions, please use the map located on the Contact Us page.

For 23 years we've been producing creative, well-designed and award winning home plans. It's been our pleasure to work with the area's top builders and home buyers around the Triangle area, throughout the state and across the country.  On a local level, TRD has supplied or designed plans for the annual "Parade of Homes" competition that have consistently garnered our builders Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards. We have designed homes for the "Street of Dreams" home showcase and are a five time recipient of the MAME Award for Excellence.  We have received national Design Excellence awards and top honors at the International Builders Convention.

With a commitment to quality design and customer service, Triangle Residential Designs opened for business in January 1986 as a small, one-man operation in a two room office suite. We expanded in 1994 with the addition of office staff and additional designers. The next year, in January 1995, TRD purchased and merged with Raleigh Residential Designs / Carolina Home Plans, one of the area's leading design firms.  The joining of these two companies gave us decades of experience that was second to none in the area’s home design industry.

The merging of these two companies’ design libraries has now grown into a plan source that contains approximately 1700 plans that range from 800 square foot starter homes to multi-million dollar estates, in a vast array of styles. We have also designed numerous multi-family communities and have pre-designed plans for these projects in our library as well. 

Because TRD is primarily a design firm and not a plan broker, all the designs we offer have been created by designers in our office and have been field proven. This gives us a unique, first-hand knowledge of all of our plans’ construction.

We know that professional builders and home owners require graphically, technically and structurally accurate plans. The homes must be cost effective and aesthetically pleasing. Our firm will always strive to exceed all of these requirements.
