Addition and Renovation

If you love where you live but need more space or just a new look, consider renovating or adding on to your home. With the lack of availability of land as well the rising cost, more and more people are deciding to stay where they are.  With this becoming a more popular option, the demand for this service has increased year by year. We currently design an average of 20 additions/renovations a year. They range from covered decks, screen porches and sunrooms to additions as large as the house itself or totally removing a roof or upper level and expanding upwards. Anything is possible.

The key to successful addition project, from a design point of view, is that when all is said and done, the addition doesn’t look like an addition. It should blend and flow with the house and not look like something growing on it. If this is not the final outcome, then the design has failed on an aesthetic level.  Exterior aesthetics is just one of the many considerations that arise when doing an addition to your home. There are lot restrictions, zoning considerations, structural integrity, resale value, financial feasibility and budgetary limitations. We will examine all of these areas during the process to ensure you get the best project for your investment.

Regardless of the age of your home, we can design a much needed addition or redesign an existing space to be more useful.  We can work from existing plans of your home or if you don’t have them, we can recreate the portions we need.

Restoration

Homes can be severely damaged by fire or floods. It happens quickly and usually without warning. Lives are turned upside down, valuables lost and mementos destroyed. It can be devastating.

In many cases, victims of these kinds of catastrophic damages are not in a position to relocate to a new home. The home must be repaired. Or perhaps there is no desire to move. Many people want to stay where they are and start over again.

As difficult and terrible as this may be, it can also be a good opportunity to recreate a new home as a fresh, improved living space.

If this has happened to you, we can help you rebuild your home by creating a design that will give you a new beginning and put you on your way to recovery. We can work in association with insurance companies to coordinate plan production. We can redesign a new home around as much of the existing structure as is salvageable and recommend area that should be demolished. We can give the home an entirely new appearance or recreate the look of the home you loved. Anything is possible.
