Ever since I saw Triangle Residential Designs first Parade of Homes entry 20 years ago, I knew I wanted this team to design our dream house.   Recently, TRD help us achieve our dream.  We provided the them with a few sketches and they returned a masterpiece.  The final design exceeded all our expectations.  We would gladly use their services again and recommend them to anyone looking for a high quality home design.

When we signed a new custom build client who wanted their house entered in the Parade of Homes for 2005 (but didn’t quite have a vision for the home yet), we knew that we wanted Dave Bennett to work on this project. 

 

After 150+ homes and 12 years of building in exclusive neighborhoods like Chapel Hill’s Governors Club and The Preserve at Jordan Lake, we were going to be building our first home in Heritage Pointe.  It would be seen by hundreds of people during the Parade and judged by a panel of our industry peers. The homesite was especially important as it was the first lot inside the main entrance of this new neighborhood.

 

The plan had to be perfect.  It had to showcase our construction quality and attention to detail, but also demonstrate affordability and the homeowner’s own personal preferences.  Realizing the challenge we were facing to put our first product on the ground in a new market, we knew that Dave was the designer to bring the right balance of creativity, traditional architectural style, and ability to create a reflection of the homeowner’s unique tastes without compromising the budget.

 

Dave didn’t disappoint us!  The home earned a silver award in the Parade of Homes and we moved in our very happy clients this past October.  So, it was no surprise that when the owner of a local real estate firm saw our work and came to us to build his custom home recently, we teamed up with Dave Bennett again.  Hopefully, we will be bringing home awards on our collaborative projects for years to come!

Our firm has been working with David Bennett and Triangle Residential Designs since 1986.  Both I, an Interior Designer, and Richard C. Bell FASLA FAAR, Landscape Architect, have worked directly with David on the custom design of houses for special clients who wanted a home which was well designed and integrated with the site, innovative and highly functional.

 

In many cases Richard and I would come up with the conceptual design for the house working in collaboration with the clients and the site,  When we had finished the development for the conceptual deign of the house and interiors we would then work closely with David to finalize functional and construction detailing.  Through our work with David we would then provide the client with the final set of construction plans.

 

In all cases, the construction drawings have been accurate and highly detailed in addition to this, he gives and our clients his serious consideration for the most efficient use of building materials.  Some of the building contractors we have worked with during the process of construction administration have said that they have never seen a better set of construction documents.

 

We have always enjoyed working with David.  He is both very professional and personable as well as a joy to work with.  He always has a very good attitude and sense of humor even when the "design process" gets a little rough.
